I photograph the day the way it actually goes. The long pause before the doors open, the aunt who cannot stop laughing, the light coming off the lake at eight o'clock.
I live in Potsdam and work across St. Lawrence, Franklin and Essex counties, from a barn outside Canton to a lodge in Lake Placid. I keep the day loose, I stay out of the way, and I hand back a set of pictures that will still mean something in forty years.
Two weddings a month, so every one gets the whole of my attention. If your date is open, I would like to hear about it.
